Description
The ecoPLA Matt has been slightly modified to make it perfect for 3D printing applications.
PLA (polylactic acid) is a non-toxic biodegradable 3D printing material.
3DJake ecoPLA Matt is a cheap & high-quality alternative for many printers.
PLA is one of the most popular 3D printing materials due to its features and good printability.
The properties of the ecoPLA Matt by 3DJake:
- Matt surface (low refraction of light)
- Minimal shrinkage
- Minimal warping
- Good diameter and roundness tolerances
- No unpleasant odours
- Easy to print
- Tougher & less brittle than conventional Matt PLA filament
3DJake ecoPLA Matt Filament can be used with almost any FDM 3D printer.

Brilliant filament
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I have now printed about 20kg of this filament and I find it excellent. I don't print with anything else.
On my Prusa with a 0.6 nozzle you get very pleasant almost ceramic finish and pleasant layers. It sands down very well and takes additional finish (acrylics, varnish) very well. Was this rating helpful? (0) (0)

very unhappy
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
This filament is truly disappointing. It's extremely brittle and brakes really easy. Layers don't stick together and it has huge problems with extruding from my stock .4 nozzle. I simply cannot print anything with it on my Creality Ender 3 Pro, which works perfectly fine with other filaments from 3DJake.
At least it has a nice matt finish that makes it look like a piece of chalk, but it's no use at all if I cannot make it work.
DO NOT BUY IT!Was this rating helpful? (1) (3)

M.
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
This filament is very good for object which needs matt finishing. But searching printer setting to minimize strings cannot ger good result.
But in my case, stringing effect doesn't affect my printing much.
I will re-order it.Was this rating helpful? (0) (0)

ecoPLA
Rated with 3 out of 5 stars.
Does what PLA should do. I really like the look of the material once printed.
One big drawback though, is that it doesn't fit into the Bambu Lab AMS unit.
That was a real bummer. Was this rating helpful? (0) (0)

Very Good for Architectural printing... Needs effort tuning printer though!
Rated with 3 out of 5 stars.
From experience eco-PLA in general is like Marmite!
Even I have a love/hate relationship with this filament!
Pro's:
It has a very good finish that is perfect for architectural prints and models that will be painted,
It bridges really well,
It's a competitive price,
Being matte makes all but horrendous ringing nearly invisible.
Con's:
It's like PetG for hotend oozing,
Being matte any Z banding sticks out like a sore thumb,
It's strangely brittle,
Print with this a lot and a hardened or coated nozzle is required.
I have run this in all my printers at various times. This includes direct drive and bowden, stock to heavily modified, Cartesian, CoreXY and Delta printers.
Regardless all have needed tuning for this filament to print well!
Because of the PetG like tendency of this filament to ooze it is better suited for use with direct drive extruders!
You will need to run several retraction, temp and linear advance test prints to dial this filament in.
If you don't have the patience or don't understand what that means my advice is to avoid this eco-PLA or you WILL be disappointed!
If you are willing to give it a go, i suggest starting around here for temps and retractions:
Hotend:
First layer - 235-240c
Printing - 225c (below this and you will see layer adhesion issues and signs of under extrusion!)
Bridging - 215-220c
Bed:
First layer - 65c
Rest - 60c
Retractions:
bowden - 5mm @25-30mm/s
direct - 3.5-4mm @ 25mm/s
These settings are with an ambient room temp of 20-22c and ptfe lined hotends.
If you think of it kinda like low temperature PetG you should get it printing without too many headaches!
